"Gibson's Career Not Ruined, Reporter Says" - AP

From the Associated Press: LOS ANGELES -- Film industry people could turn their backs on Mel Gibson socially, but the Hollywood Reporter's Gregg Kilday said Saturday that it won't be the actor's fate on the business side. Kilday said that as an actor, producer and director, Gibson has become a kind of movie industry unto himself. He said the perfect example is Gibson's 2004 film, "The Passion of the Christ." Gibson's own company, Icon, financed the project for $30 million. Gibson produced and directed the picture, and it made $600 million. If Gibson did go outside his own company with what looked like a sure money-maker, Kilday said, it is unlikely that anyone would turn him down.
